GETTING FROM PAGES TO READERS: My Field Trip to Harlequin's Distribution Center

Recently I got to visit the amazing team of customer service and warehouse people working at the Harlequin Distribution Center in Depew, New York.
These are the incredible people whose job it is to talk to customers on the phone, recommend books, take orders, field any questions and then send books off to readers and bookstores.
If you’re a member of a Harlequin or Love Inspired Book Club, or have ever called Customer Service, then you’ve probably talked to one of these great people directly, and if you’ve ever ordered a book online or bought one in a bookstore then it probably whizzed down the exact same conveyor belts I watched soaring over my head.
A lot of the people I met had worked for Harlequin for many, many years and seemed to genuinely love the publisher and our readers. They had a lot of great stories to tell about connection with readers. It was wonderful to be surrounded by so much positivity and such a huge encouragement.
Plus, as you can see, I took lots of pictures!

Thanks! I did see some of your books but they were stacked too high to get a clear picture, so the picture just came out as a huge tower of purple.

Oh my goodness!!! A reader's paradise!!! I love seeing the behind the scenes look at book production. I can't imagine standing next to those massive stack of beautiful books....I'd be in seventh heaven :-)

I was So tempted to take books home with me. Especially when I saw the December books that aren't even out yet. I don't know how they stand the temptation. Although I did start reading a suspense book in the lobby they let me take.

I just got finished reading "Surviving the Wilderness". I am an avid reader and I have enjoyed many of your books. I noticed this book had a lot of typographical errors, and things like words being left out. I realize this is not you doing it and mass production sometimes lets things slip by. But one question I had is when Jeff rescued Quinn from the falls and takes her back to his cabin, and he then takes her and Addison in his truck back to her campsite and then Bruno steals Vic's truck and puts it in the river, and Vic comes after him in Jeff's truck. How ;did Jeff's truck get back to the cabin? Did it just drive itself back. I really enjoyed the book.
