Leaping into fall & pumpkin fire

Girl jumping off hay bale
The hardest part of writing anything new is starting on that very first sentence. Staring at a blank page, waiting for the words to form on the fingertips feels an awful lot like standing on the very tip of a diving board trying to summon the courage to leap…

Okay… here goes…

Welcome to my new webpage! (There, I’ve done it!)

Thank you for popping by my new website to find out more about me, my novels and the things I’m working on. I’m so glad you dropped by! It’s been a little over a month now since my very first Love Inspired Suspense novel – Killer Assignment – came out, and I’ve been absolutely thrilled with how it turned out, and the feedback I’ve gotten from readers like you.

Yesterday, we took my daughters to a country farm. They climbed high up on the haystack fortress before leaping into the soft hay below. Then they got lost together in giant corn maze. As we cuddled up together on the hayride at the end of the day, they started making wild and imaginative suggestions for my next book.  How would my characters outsmart a villain in a cornfield? Would the mighty pumpkin cannon they saw fired work as a defensive weapon?

If you’ve read the Reader’s Letter in the back of Killer Assignment, you’ll know not everything in my life has always gone as planned. But on days like today, I’m so glad it didn’t. Because this way my girls get to be part of all my beginnings. They were there when I opened my first box of books from a publisher. They are here every day with hugs, and ideas, and suggestions on what characters should be called and what they should do. I love sharing this journey with them.

As you can see — just like my girls — my new website is only a tiny little thing right now. But I look forward to adding to it, and watching it grow.

Thank you for sharing this journey with me! I look forward to growing with you.
